Mountain Eagles-Franchise History
Back in 3/18/12, Season 19, GM tough was given ownership to this team. Formally UK Kentucky Wildcats now is called the Mountain Eagles. Then started the purchase of such players like Zoran Jakovic, Dezider Dekis (would be a key piece in the future) that help footed the start of a winning Division 5 Franchise. Then, they were able to pull off massive deals like acquiring young Center Fang Ruiguo and Wilfrid Ruiz, the Mountain Eagles were able to make a deep run in the playoffs until they got dissapointed in the Finals against a team named iSmackNoobs-due to some Big injuries to Ruiguo and Jakovic. Then there was time to rethink.
With some advice, The Eagles sold a bunch of their players, and firing some if needed. But they held on to Dekis. But they got some Big deals too right then, getting PF Henrique Forjaz, and Mikey Johnson. With these two, and a blockbuster trade in buying 18 yo sensation Val Delong, the Eagles started a Big domination, with the rotation of Forjaz, star sensation James Coleman, 6th Man now Dekis and Rook Delong, they were able to get by into interleague play. Then before their biggest match of the season, against Friend owner Cometahalley of CRF Flamengo, they made a huge deal and got PG Narciso Catnadil, who helped them a lot in their 94-83 win. Then they were able to beat hard teams in V.89 like 76ersss, Bode-Diggity Dogs, and Chicago Scrappers. Then when they got to the playoffs they made another big acquisition and got superstar SF Maxime Delvallee (known as Maximum). With Maximum, the Eagles were able to steamroll through the playoffs, and being able to rematch with their friendly foe CRF Flamengo in the finals.
Then in a scrimmage Forjaz went down hard with a BIG knee injury that benched him for the season, and now they were 1 player down, 1 key player. Now in Game 3, Dekis STOOD UP BIG, giving them 22 points and 4 blocks and 17 boards in the 101-85 win over CRF. The Eagles celebrated their first title as a franchise and move up in division- to league IV.29 USA.
In season 21 it was a debut season for the Mountain Eagles in division 4. They landed to IV.29 USA, a tough Division 4 league. The Mountain Eagles got off to a terrible start, going 3-8 and at one point in last place. But then the Mountain Eagles acquired star SG Ye Huaien and a PF who can rebound-Ulferd Stillfried. They then went to go 9-2 the rest of the way and almost crashed into the playoffs. But they were just short.
In season 22 it started off strong with the Eagles going 5-2 in the first round of Conference play. In inter-league play the Eagles then gone 6-2 and almost had a huge upset in the #1 seed, Goon Squad (but a dunkface and a missed 3 costs us the game). In the 2nd round of Conference Play the Eagles went 4-3 and got 2nd in the Great 8, where the squeezed by the Almdudlers but lost to Rum Ham. At that time the star backcourt of Ye Huaien, Reg Torres, and Marcos Tirado were all traded away for cash.
In season 23 they drafted stars Amos Crook and Weldon Biddle. They'd sell Biddle and gone on to keep Amos Crook. Things would be going by really slow until something big happen--Mountain Eagles acquired young star Nicola Bongiovanni For over $500,000. After that, the Eagles made another astounding trade, getting elite veteran SF Ye Mingjie for over $600,000! With those two players the Mountain Eagles fought and sought their way to the playoffs, only to get blown out by the eventual champion Rum Ham. Later after the playoff lost the Eagles gone out and bought another great player for the backcourt; a player who formerly played with Bongiovanni in Gerasimos Liontos.
In season, 24, the Mountain Eagles gone all out for the promotion spot, with their new trio of Liontos, New Ye, and Bongiovanni. They racked up the points and became one of the most elite teams in D4 history, being ranked #2 in all of Division 4 this season. This was also made done due to the help of newly acquired PF Willy Ayala (for $120,000) and C Sven Joekalda ($20,000). There were also big tune-ups to the bench, acquiring the 6th Man of the Year Jaak Pold, and then right before playoffs, acquiring PG Jozsef Zsolnai. They also had good young stars in Sol Scarbrborough and Rufus Cash, who helped the bench even more! The Mountain Eagles were more then ready to promote, and when the final buzzer fell in their 97-65 win over BPI Robbiemen, the team rejoiced as it was their second title as a franchise in only 5 years of existence.
In season 25, the Mountain Eagles were promoted into league III.11, where they now stand at a 4-6 record and 5th place in the Great 8. After the sells of Ye Mingjie and Gerasimos Liontos, they also acquired Rookie Phenon Harvey Shah-- a 18 year old, MVP potential prospect for over 550k! The Eagles have been led right now by the amazing play of Nicola Bongiovanni, who is the leading scorer in III.11 at 31.2 PPG. They've been also led by the Great play of now 22 year old Sol Scarborough, and still effective play by Jaak Pold, Willy Ayala, and Sven Joekalda. Even though they were 0-8 against the Big 8, they were able to get led by Bongiovanni, who scored over 20 points in all of their remaining games! They were able to accomplish their goal: Stay in league. They got 5th seed and have the 4th Overall Pick in the upcoming Draft.
In season 26, the Mountain Eagles use their 4th Overall Pick wisely, and draft Hall of Fame potential great Kurt Stratford, who is happy to be a Mountain Eagle. The team goes through its growing pains, its ups and downs, but ultimately becomes heads into the 1st round of the playoffs and loses to the E.C. High Flyers. Their 3rd seed made the fans very happy and started showing to Dodge Arena very often. The introduction of Kurt Stratford also stirred National Team Scouts to go to the games as well. The Trio of Scarborough, Shah, and Stratford came into mind, as the "SSS" Crew. They also purchased a big man in the name of Martins Bockans, who was a perennial defender and rebounder. His presence helped the Eagles along the way as well.
In season 27, the Mountain Eagles would get to a very hot start. But after come into a "Cold Crisis" as they lost a total of 11 games that season either in the 4th quarter, or choked in the mist of a game-altering scoring possession. They would then trade off Big Man Martins Bockans and decided to expand Dodge Arena some more. They would end the season sliding into 5th place and didn't get really any impact players from the draft. Sol Scarborough was nearing his prime though, as he was 24 and already producing big numbers for the team.
In season 28, they struggled badly. They won against the teams they should've won, but then also lose the games against teams they should've won as well. Injuries to players such as Greg Periera and Nicola Bongiovanni also did not help as well. In all, they go 9-13, and 6th place in the Great 8. Their record would result in a relegation series with the 1Derz Bangerz. In the relegation series, it was led directly by Kurt Stratford and Sol Scarborough, who each piled over 60 points in each of the 2 games. Their performances helped them overcome the Bangerz and not only beat them, but destroy them in the series 2-0. They would receive the 5th Overall Pick in the Annual Draft
In season 29, their draft produced well. They were able to snag Michigan star Gaby Brunelle with the 5th, and Big Man steal in Kansas Ernest Jones in the 3rd round (37th), which was quite a bargain. They would trade away Brunelle for $250,000, and keep Jones and 2nd round pick Lee Stone (21st). Kurt Stratford was also named to be on the USA's U21 National Team as well this season.
