The Mountain Eagles had another tough game Tuesday, against 2nd in Big 8 Salan Rock Rats. They had a star studded SF with some great bench pieces and a even nastier inside core. The Eagles, were with star Nicola Bongiovanni and Sol Scarborough who led them to the game.
Fans started filing out of Dodge arena once the score hit 35-17; it would be the largest deficit of the game for the Eagles, and by the start of the 3rd, Dodge Arena only have about 6,000 fans left, already doubting the team. In the 3rd, Nicola Bongiovanni and Sol Scarborough took charge. They started an 18-0 run that also contributed with the bench, and tied the game up. In the 4th, Mountain Eagles fans were trying to COME BACK into Dodge Arena but were denied access. After that, the Eagles took their first lead of the game on a Bongiovanni three. Then the bench came in. The bench cost the games 10 points and all hope was lost. But with 1 minute left, Bongiovanni and Jaak Pold took charge, hitting 3 after three! Eventually, with 17 seconds left, the Mountain Eagles had the ball down 97-94. Coach took a timeout, and then told them to give it to Bongiovanni or Pold. What happened? Greg Periera took the shot with 13 seconds left, and purposefully bricked the shot, having a sly smile on his face after he shot the airball. Once the game was over, the Eagles lost 101-97, this is what happened....
"ANDDDD THAT DOES IT FANS. MOUNTAIN EAGLES LOSE YET ANOTHER CLOSE GAME! GOSH, THAT HAS TO BE DISSA--WAIT, THERES SOMETHING GOING ON ON THE COURT!!!!!!! NICOLA BONGIOVANNI IS THROWING PUCNHES AT GREG PERIERA! WHAT IS GOING ON!?!?!??!?!? BONGIOVANNI IS STILL PUNCHING GREG PERIERA!!!! SOL SCARBOROUGH IS TRYING TO GET HIM OFF, AND HE GETS KNOCKED DOWN! BONGIOVANNI IS NOW......STILL PUNCHING GREG PERIERA IN THE FACE! PERIERA IS TRYING TO BLOCK THEM!" After that, total pandemonium erupted across Dodge Arena. Fans started burning Greg Periera's jersey. Fans also burned Palmer Taylor's jersey. (Taylor had a dismal -25 rating in which he got fired at halftime) People were jumping over the bleachers getting on to the court fighting as well. Reporters and photographers were also caught in the middle of the fight. It took the authorities to calm down Dodge Arena. First, this is Bongiovanni on what happened during and after the game:
"Greg Periera is a p****. I gave it MY ALL ON THE COURT TODAY. AND thats how he repays us? After we were down 20, TWENTY. We worked our butts off and came back. I wanted to win the game. Sol Scarborough wanted to win the game. He helped me a LOT today. But of course, it had to be the little b**** Greg Periera who f***** up the game for us. SABOTAGE. SABOTAGE I SAY. You don't smile after you miss a three. You just don't. After the game I was too mad I just let it all out. I am tired of Periera. Good riddance b****."
Here is Greg Periera at the interview: " I don't want to speak right now. I got f****** assaulted by Nicola just now. I'm pressing charges immediately for him and immediately for my injuries. Better get ready to pay it up. I really didn't care about that shot, since I'm leaving the Mountain Eagles anyways. tough can go **** it. I'm done."
Here's Harvey Shah's commentary on the fight: "OK, so like ehhh the buzzer sounded. Bongiovanni was mad. He told me, watch me beat this boy up. He then ran up from behind Periera. Then he just started swunging. He was like BOP BOP BOP BOOM and then Periera fell to the ground. He STOLT Periera badly that BLOOD came out. Like real talk. I seen it with my own 2 eyes and you can see the replay of after the game. It was just, DAMN." GM tough after the arena was calmed down and the rioters were arrested: "Well, can't do anything about it. Rats were the better team then us. We have mistakes. Poor rebounding, poor bench. Reason why I fired Taylor in first half. Just can't have those mistakes. We have to just learn from the loss and move on." Periera is still up for trade, but what happens now for the Eagles??? Who will be Periera's replacement, and what direction is the team going to now? This is Tim Carl, reporting

Eagles Lost vs. Logicians Mixes up Controversy
In the Mountain Eagles' recent 58-47 loss vs. Logicians, there was a very heated locker room afterwards. Geneeral Manager tough was shocked that the team lost; even more shocked that team star Nicola Bongiovanni shot 9 for 33 with 5 for 21 from behind the arc. Greg Periera barely recorded any stats (as usual) and it led to a very heated debate. Here is Bongiovanni after the game: "I'm tired of losing games that I know we can win! We need some more production! I cannot believe how we lost...we had the game in our hands and it just went away! WHAT THE HELL? Time after time I fight, and I don't receive any help from anyone!? I tell the players time after time, and they just don't listen! I scored 55 the other day, still lose. Scores 38. Lost. 36. Had a tough one until the 4th. Scored 25 today. What more can a guy ask? I just want help...very disappointed. Outraged. This is the worst lost I've ever endured. The pain is painful. We need some help on this team...fast. I'm not a 1 man team."
After this GM tough and the team had a heated argument about players and their roles. It got so heated that the team had to hold each other back otherwise a fight would've occurred. This is what Greg Periera had to say: "No help? I am helping. I do what I can with the roster I receive. If anyone should be helping its f****** Nicola, the 5 for 30 b**** that just randomly shoots it again and again and gets the same result while expecting a different Outcome. That is what I call, insanity. Insanity at it's best. You do not go shooting 5 for 30 on any given night like cmon now. You pass the ball to your teammates Bong. Not ballhog like Kobe. Trust you're team dude."
Sol Scarborough on the argument: "It was pretty bad. Nicola and Greg got into a very mild debate over roles and well....tempers were flared. Me and Kurt [Stratford] had to pull them back because they were on the ground fighting. Was shocked in my eyes to see such a thing happen. Wonder what coach and GM gonna do about it."
Immediately after the fight, GM tough thought it out and decided it was time to part ways with Greg Periera. "I know his passing and defense is beyond great. It's magnificent. But right now he [Bongiovanni] is not getting any help at all. One man teams cannot win, it is a proven theory. Lebron didn't do it. Iverson didn't do it. Jordan didn't do it until he had Pippen. We need to get a reliable 2nd scoring option. That is not named Nicola Bongiovanni. He puts his heart in there day in and day out but the team just as a whole isn't performing right. Especially Greg Periera. He earns 240k a month [60k a week] and plays like he earns 30k. I mean he looks like a great player, with weapons around him. But without weapons, there is no great Greg Periera. I think it is best for him to find a team that can use him effectively. As for me, I am right now looking for a replacement for Greg, and hope to have one as early as in the morning. And the game? I just don't want to talk about it, I'm furious." Well there you have it people. Greg Periera is seeking trade and the replacement is on the way for the Eagles. But who will the replacement be? We shall find out soon. This is Allen Zone, reporting.

Torn ACL Ends Joekalda's Career
In the Relegation Series on Tuesday, a very dangerous play happened in which Sven Joekalda got fouled hard and fell to the ground. A flagrant foul was called, but the injury proved more then serious. Sven Joekalda had to get carted off the court, and with that was the last Official game of his 20 year career. The MRIs came in the next day and it showed that Joekalda had a torn ACL. Later on, at the Eagles' weekly Press Conference, he announced his retirement from basketball. "It has come to me today, that my ACL got torn up the previous game. The MRIs showed that it looked pretty gruesome and awful. I felt the pain as well. They said the surgery and recover would take nearly 1 and a half year, which would mean I wouldn't be able to return until the middle of next season. With that being said, I announce my retirement from basketball; effective as the end of the season. Which means after this season, I will no longer be playing for any buzzerbeater team. The reasons why I retire are because I do not want to be a burden to this Mountain Eagles franchise. I don't want to gear up and recover and play poorly and cost them games. I want to give them the best chance to win. I also felt like it would've been too much rehab and training to get back up to tip-top shape. I thank all my owners for my championships. I thank Mountain Eagles the most, for keeping me during these twilight years of my career. I wish my former franchises, along with the Eagles, a very prosperous future in which they give more titles. I want to say thanks to Willy Ayala, Sol Scarborough, Jaak Pold, Nicola Bongiovanni, and the other players of the Season 24 Championship team. I've had great times with them and I hope they will have more good times together. I also wish the best of luck to the future stars, Kurt Stratford and Harvey Shah. Last, but not least, I want to thank General Manager tough for the great experience and wisdom that he has taught me. I wish him the best. These 20 years of my career have been long. I've been through the ups and downs of many. But this Eagles has probably been the most fun of them all. Again, thank you for your contributions, and for the last time of my career, I will say good bye. Good bye!" Stated Joekalda at the news conference. Sources say Joekalda will go back to his home country of Eesti and become a college coach for young Eesti boys who have the potential to take it to the big leagues. You'll see him on occasion at Eagles games as well! That's it from Dodge Arena, this is Tim Carl, reporting.
Legendary Performance by Kurt Stratford; Carries Eagles past Bangerz
The Relegation Series. The series where 1 team stays. One team goes. The series where you're either surviving another season in the league, or you're going through devastation and division 4. This was a huge series for the Mountain Eagles; they've never took part in a relegation series to date. This was their first, and it could mean demotion. They gone to Dodge Arena determined, wanting to win. Afterwords, something amazing happened. Throughout the game, Kurt Stratford was performing lights out. He ended the game with 46 points, the most ever scored by a Mountain Eagle in the playoffs. He shot 17 of 29 from the field, and 5 of 13 from 3. He also piled in 3 boards, 5 assists, and 4 blocks, in 47 minutes of play. It was beyond ordinary what happened on the court tonight. Kurt Stratford looked like a legend out there. Here is what tough had to say: "I am shocked. I cannot believe what I've just seen. Back in my day, I've watched old tapes of Michael Jordan performing in the playoffs. Tonight, it was kinda like watching a rerun of that, but with Kurt Stratford in there. This was a legendary performance by him. I am amazed of what he can do." The Mountain Eagles went on to pummel the Bangerz 138-56, with Stratford leading the way with 46 points. Here is Stratford at the news conference. "Well, I talked with Nicola earlier in the day. He was walking after the surgery so that's a good thing. What he told me, was that someone had to step up tonight. He said he believed I could. Gave me a few pointers too. So what did I do about it? I gone out there, and found with the Eagle pride that I got in me. The pride, helped me win. I couldn't have thanked Nicola, Sol, and my teammates more enough right now for this opportunity. Without them, I wouldn't be saying this today. I'm glad I scored those 46 points, and I will remember this moment for a very long time." We've also talked to a fanatic Mountain Eagle fan as well; "I can't believe what I just seen. Stratford was balling out there. He just took the game over and gone Jordan mode! It was like a dream, the moves he was doing and everything. Just wow." With that, the Eagles take a 1-0 lead over Bangerz, with one more win being the clincher. Tune in Saturday for that match. This is Allen Zone, reporting.
Kurt Stratford Scores 27 in Lost vs. Bullets
Life without superstart Nicola Bongiovanni can be tough. Indeed, it was tough when he gone down vs. Lengends the game before. Despite his season-ending injury, there was one Mountain Eagle who never gave up; that player being Kurt Stratford. In the previous game, he's scored his career high in a league game 26 points, in a valiant effort that resulted in a loss. Tonight, he does it again! This time, scoring 27, as they fall short though to the Miami Bullets. "Gotta do what you gotta do. We have to adjust to situations like this. Someone's gotta step it up. I'm stepping it up. Let's show the world we can win without our cornerstone," said Kurt at a news conference after the game. "It's been amazing to see Stratford's performances over the past 2 games. But with relegation locked up, and not having Nicola will be hard on us. We have to find a way to survive and win without him. If not, things can get really scary. Let's do this for Bong team." tough explained later in the conference. With the Relegation Series locked up vs. 1Derz Bangerz, do the Eagles have what it takes for them to defeat them? Will it be enough? Who will step it up? This is Tim Carl, reporting.
